SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Featherstone, Pontefract (WF7) Contract Type: Full Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join aninclusive and supportive team in a primary school. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) within a school setting, helping them to achieve their full potential. Day to Day of the role: Provide one-on-one support to students with additional needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural challenges. Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities that cater to the individual needs of SEN students. Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued. Implement SEN strategies and interventions to promote student engagement and learning. Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain individual education plans (IEP's) for students. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience working with children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting. A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to individual student needs and learning styles. Familiarity with SEN strategies and interventions, and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. A positive attitude and a passion for inclusive education.
