No Offer Description CDKL5 deficiency syndrome (CDD) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder belonging to the autism spectrum disorders. Patients manifest intellectual disability and motor problems, suggesting possible dysfunction of the midbrain dopaminergic system. As the impact of the loss of CDKL5 on this system is still poorly understood, the following project aims to study the dopaminergic system in mouse models of CDD (CDKL5-KO, CDKL5-E364X) by analysing (i) the morphological and molecular organisation of the synaptic contacts of the nigro-striatal circuits, (ii) the release of extracellular vesicles from cultured striatal neurons, (iii) and the role of striatal astrocytic glia, using cell biology and microscopy techniques. Finally, a panel of behavioural tests will be performed to assess sensorimotor responses and locomotor capacity in these animals.
