Financial Reporting Specialist

Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist Location: Cape Town Sector: Mining Our client, a well-established Mining company, is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Specialist to join their team based in Cape Town. This role requires a candidate fluent in Afrikaans and willing to travel quarterly across Africa to support regional operations. Basic Duties: Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company policies. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Manage and oversee the consolidation of financial statements across regional entities. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits. Implement and maintain effective financial controls and reporting processes. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Travel quarterly to support regional operations and ensure reporting consistency. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial reporting, ideally in the Mining or related sectors. Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial consolidation. Leverage a strong understanding of OHADA accounting practices. Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and coordinate with SOX-specific personnel. Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced MS Excel skills. Fluency in Afrikaans is essential. Willingness and ability to travel across Africa on a quarterly basis. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
