Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
* Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural drawings and specifications.
* Analyse project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
* Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Monitor project costs, variations, and changes, and provide regular reports to project stakeholders.
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents and participate in the tendering process.
* Evaluate and assess subcontractor quotations and proposals, ensuring competitiveness and compliance.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify discrepancies, and manage cost-related issues.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure cost-effective solutions and project efficiency.
* Provide expert advice on cost management strategies and potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
* In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building regulations.
* Proficiency in quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and budgeting.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with project teams, and subcontractors
