The role involves designing marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing, and mooring systems. You will also provide technical and professional guidance to junior engineers, collaborate with team members and external clients on technical matters, and write detailed technical reports. The successful candidate must:
* Chartered or near-chartered engineer, with a strong commitment to pursuing professional qualifications.
* Demonstrable experience or aptitude in designing marine structures.
* Proficiency in FE modelling software such as STAAD Pro, LUSAS, or SAP 2000.
* Strong knowledge of buildability and maritime design standards (e.g., BS6349, PIANC).
Desired:
* Expertise in designing lock gates, heavy-duty pavements, breakwaters, or linkspans.
* Coastal engineering design and assessment experience.
* Knowledge of marine geotechnics and temporary works design.
* Familiarity with engineering tools such as Optimoor, Wallap, and Plaxis.
* MEng in Civil Engineering (minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent).
