Duties: Apply South African tax laws on crypto assets. Calculate and report crypto taxes to SARS by annual deadlines. Assist clients in legally minimizing tax liabilities. Analyze various crypto transactions (buying, selling, swapping, and gifting). Determine tax implications and ensure accurate profit/loss reporting. Assess and calculate CGT on crypto gains. Determine effective tax rates based on the annual exclusion threshold and total taxable income. Evaluate crypto profits for income tax, applying relevant tax rates (18%-45%). Assist clients in meeting income tax obligations. Maintain detailed records of all crypto transactions, including mining, staking, airdrops, and DeFi activities. Stay updated on SARS regulations and collaborate with advisors and exchanges. Provide strategies for tax optimization. Qualifications and Experience Required: Bachelors Degree in accounting CA(SA) or SAIT accreditation is essential 5 to 8 years managerial experience Experience in tax and how it relates to crypto is essential Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
