IT Service Manager Identity and Access Management The Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) is a self-governing scientific organization funded by the German federal and state governments. It currently conducts basic research in the natural sciences and humanities in 84 institutes and research centers in Germany and abroad, making it one of the leading international research institutions with numerous Nobel Prize winners in its ranks. For its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department, the General Administration of the MPG is looking for a 39-hour per week position as soon as possible. IT Service Manager Identity and Access Management (reference number 142/24) The Information and Communication Technology department of the General Administration supports the institutes and the General Administration by providing suitable basic infrastructure, basic IT services (desktop and communication) and process-specific solutions (SAP, web services, other applications) with a focus on administrative processes. Your tasks will be You will manage the operation of IT services in cooperation with operational and development service providers You coordinate the implementation of operational changes and the roll-outs of your services to organizational units and new IT services You are responsible for the budget of your IT services You work together with the IAM project teams to implement new and changed functionalities in productive operation You will work with other IT specialists and specialist departments of the General Administration, the IT departments of the Max Planck Institutes and the MPG data centers on specific topics You organize and support the processing of support requests from users Your tasks also include tendering, managing and monitoring external service providers What you bring with you A degree in computer science, business informatics or a comparable degree or skills and experience comparable to this degree are required You are experienced in managing IT services, preferably in accordance with ITIL You have knowledge of identity management, single sign-on and multi-factor authentication as well as general IT security You are familiar with the use of Windows and Linux systems; you also have knowledge of development processes and tools and understand the interaction of components in high-availability infrastructures You are characterized by analytical skills, goal-oriented work, a high level of motivation and reliability, a confident manner and good communication skills The ability to contribute profitably and constructively in a team complements your profile You have a good command of written and spoken German and English What we offer you As part of a permanent employment contract, we offer you a salary up to pay group 14 TVöD (federal government) and various social benefits, depending on your qualifications and professional experience.
