Bridgwater

£12.86 - £13 per hour – Term Time only

We have an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team as a Behaviour Support Worker in the Bridgwater area focusing on working with Challenging behaviour.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to work within our partner SEND school setting in the Bridgwater area. The Behaviour Support Worker role involves supporting school-aged pupils who have been identified as having Social and Emotional Mental Health needs. This will include supporting pupils in the classroom alongside the Class Teacher and other members of support staff.

Set in the Bridgwater, this school offers a safe, nurturing environment for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs working with a range of outside agencies to ensure that their children achieve more than they thought possible.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Worker you will:

Be compassionate, understanding and caring.
Be flexible, proactive and a team player.
Be able to build positive relationships with children and young people.
Be able to demonstrate at interview the reasons why you want to start a career in education, and explain your understanding of the role of a Teaching Assistant and the important part they play in the school community.
Understand the crucial importance of keeping children and young people safe.
Be willing to pay for an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service.

Salary

£12.86 to £13 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Recent experience supporting children or adults with additional needs.
