Electronics Hardware Team LeaderYateley, HampshirePermanentCirca £50k - 65k
Our client is a leading provider of underwater navigation, positioning, communication, imaging and monitoring technology, used in offshore energy, maritime defence and ocean science industries.They are seeking an Electronics Team Leader to report to their Head of Product Development.
This will suit a hands on Senior Electronic Engineer who demonstrates the capability to lead, and mentor other team members.
Responsibilities You will design, develop, test and deliver high quality and reliability electronic hardware. The scope of the role includes development of electronics hardware on a range of subsea instruments developed within the department from underwater acoustic modems, Doppler velocity logs to data loggers and much more.
Managing and mentoring a team of engineers
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceManufacturingYou will have had experience in a manufacturing company where you understand the consequences of the decisions you make and the importance of risk mitigation.
Digital ElectronicsFocus on low power but highly complex digital systems involving a range of digital architectures including embedded Linux and FPGAs.
Analogue ElectronicsLow noise, low power analogue receiver design as well as high voltage transmitter designs. Power consumption is often critical due to the power source being limited.
SimulationActively simulates designs to conform to the mantra right first time.
EMCUnderstand the principles of designing to meet EN60945 and other relevant standards. Altium Competent Can create circuits and has basic knowledge of PCB design techniques.
Communication & Team WorkingProactively communicate and work effectively with other team members, and members of other teams throughout the business to achieve project deliverables
Embedded SoftwareWriting basic code to enable board bring-up and ensure testing is complete prior to hand over to Software Team
Leadership and Management Skills:
Managing and mentoring a team of engineers
Resource allocationGoal setting and performance review
Leading technical discussions on product development
Investigating and resolving complex hardware issues
Ensuring successful transition between development and production phases
Qualifications2:1 or above in relevant Engineering degree, such as Electronics, but not limited to.
