Job Description
Job Purpose The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for inspecting manufactured products and purchased materials throughout the companys manufacturing processes, to ensure adherence to company quality standards, approved design drawings and customer expectations. Required Education & Experience - Matric, relevant Quality Assurance or higher qualification essential - Minimum 5 years experience within a manufacturing environment - Engineering background would be advantageous - Strong computer skills including MS Office - Minimum of two (2) years related trade school or 4 years or more experience in machine shop practices and metal fabrication processes. - Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, use basic shop math, including decimals and fractions, algebra, trigonometry, handbook formulas, and precision measuring instruments. - Able to read and interpret complicated engineering drawings, including welding and machining symbols. - Interact and communicate with contractors on quality requirements. - Communicate effectively with employees, reps and customers, and with various departments including Sales, Engineering and Production Services. - Demonstrated understanding of basic electricity. - Demonstrated understanding of various machining limitations. - Familiar with welding and forming techniques and capabilities. - Familiar with computer data entry and retrieval. - Familiar with assembly procedures. - Knowledge and experience related to manufacturing processes i.e., Assembly, Welding, Machining. Responsibilities Include - Must use precision measuring instruments and tools, including Critical Measuring Micrometers (CMM). - Must determine the conformity of parts to specifications and drawing requirements. - Submit reports of inspections and dispositions to various department Managers. - Observe testing of finished products to determine conformance to specifications and drawings. - Record mechanical and electrical test data of finished products. - Work with Engineering on problem solving quality and equipment operation issues. - Able to operate tools including but not limited to, hand tools, manual machine tools, torch, drill press, etc. Key Skills - Analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to multitask - Attention to detail - Ability to effectively communicate quality expectations/requirements - Strong leadership skills and teamwork mentality - Strong verbal and digital communication skills Interested?
