Duration: 6 Months
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee a £750k high-end office refurbishment in the heart of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the electrical installation, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role demands excellent leadership, technical expertise, and a strong focus on client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Project Management
· Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all electrical works.
· Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
· Manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to site.
· Monitor project budgets and provide regular cost analysis and updates.
· Technical Oversight
· Review and interpret technical drawings, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
· Ensure all electrical installations meet industry standards, building regulations, and client expectations.
· Coordinate testing, commissioning, and handover processes with relevant stakeholders.
· Team Leadership
· Manage subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of expectations and high performance.
· Lead site meetings to resolve challenges and track progress.
· Foster a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.
· Client & Stakeholder Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, addressing queries and providing updates.
· Liaise with architects, engineers, and other trade contractors to ensure seamless integration of service.
· Prepare and deliver progress reports to stakeholders.
· Health & Safety Compliance
· Implement and enforce health and safety standards in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
· Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Proven experience managing electrical projects of similar size and complexity (£500k–£1m range).
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
· Excellent understanding of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671, Building Regulations).
· Demonstrable experience working in high-end fit-out or refurbishment environments.
· Strong IT skills, including project management tools.
· Professional certifications such as SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS Card, or NICEIC accreditation.
Key Skills:
· Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
