Role Overview
As a Solutions Architect, you’ll oversee projects from initial scoping to final delivery. You’ll design and prototype advanced cloud infrastructures, collaborate closely with technical teams, and act as a trusted advisor for clients throughout project lifecycles. This role provides an opportunity to shape cloud strategies for high-profile organisations across diverse sectors.
Core Responsibilities
- Take ownership of projects from presales and discovery phases to implementation and completion.
- Architect AWS cloud environments to meet client specifications while following best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, prepare quotations, and monitor project progress.
- Create detailed infrastructure and security documentation.
- Partner with engineering teams during project builds, ensuring DevOps practices are correctly implemented.
- Provide expert-level support as an escalation point during technical challenges.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting growth and skill development.
- Participate in industry events and client meetings to stay current on emerging technologies and trends.
Key Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in AWS Solutions Architecture.
- At least one AWS Associate-level certification.
- Hands-on experience in DevOps environments, including Linux, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with serverless applications and microservices-based architectures.
- Strong networking knowledge, including IP ranges, subnetting, routing, and VPNs.
- Excellent documentation skills with a strong attention to detail.
Desirable Skills
- AWS Professional or Specialty certifications.
- Experience with containers or orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Previous involvement in cloud migration projects.
