Associate Solicitor - TMT - Tier 1 Practice - Global Law Firm - Edinburgh/Glasgow

Are you a commercial/TMT lawyer interested in taking the next step in your career?

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercial lawyer to work in this Tier 1 (Chambers Ranked) TMT practice and to work on some of the most innovative work in the TMT space with an exciting client base of leading blue-chip clients. The role would suit a qualified solicitor with 2 to 7 years PQE with previous commercial experience gained either in-house or within a leading commercial firm. The role can be based in their offices in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Year on year they continue to win awards across a range of practice areas and they have some of the best legal talent both globally but across the UK. Their TMT practice in Scotland is a Tier 1 (Chambers ranked) practice and they work with a really impressive list of leading blue-chip and multinational clients across a range of sectors to include technology, retail, engineering, logistics, financial services, FMCG. Working for this practice the TMT associate solicitor will gain exposure to some of the most innovative work in this field.

The Role!

Working as part of this talented team you will work across and advise clients on a broad range of projects and transactions across commercial contracts, technology & tech transformation projects, data privacy and IP. You will be responsible for developing strong client relationships and taking a client first approach to ensure that you are delivering exceptional legal services. You will also get involved in the future development of the practice through getting involved in business development and networking initiatives.

The Candidate!

You will ideally meet the following criteria;

• Qualified Solicitor - 2 to 7 years PQE gained either in-house or within the commercial/TMT practice of a commercial firm
• Demonstrable experience of negotiating and drafting commercial and technology contracts
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships
• Technically strong legal drafting skills with previous experience of drafting contract amendments and clauses
• Ability to work well in a cohesive team
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organised and able to deal with a busy workload
