About Our Client International and dynamic company specializing in trading commodities. The position will be based in Toscolano Maderno (BS). Job Description The Senior Trader will be responsible for purchasing and selling commodities, ensuring the development and management of commercial relationships, customer and supplier satisfaction, and the achievement of objectives set by the Commercial Director. The role also involves contributing to the company's activities to accomplish the desired competitive positioning in the national and international markets for which they will be responsible. Business Development: Evaluate and develop new channels, products, services, and partnerships. Align activities with the company's strategy to achieve commercial objectives. Identify and capitalize on market opportunities and initiate innovative ideas. Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, demand/supply dynamics, and economic news. Provide timely market insights and recommendations to colleagues. Adapt trading strategies based on market conditions. Commercial Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers. Negotiate deals, contracts, and resolve commercial issues minimizing risks and following them up together with logistics/quality and administrative department. Ensure accurate data entry and follow-up on contracts. Leadership: Train, mentor and support junior traders, setting a positive example. Resolve operational issues and contribute to strategic direction alongside senior leadership. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines. Prepare and present reports on market activities, trading performance, and risk management. Maintain accurate records and update partner profiles. Credit and Logistics Management: Manage credit and debit positions, monitor customer debt, and perform debt recovery actions. Cooperate with Logistics/Quality and other company functions in order to evaluate and manage possible risks. Partner Satisfaction: Implement and manage commercial partnerships, ensuring contract compliance and performance. Communicate potential issues and collaborate with other functions to improve partner satisfaction. The Successful Applicant Degree, preferably in Economic disciplines; Proven track record in trading commodities, gained in highly dynamic commercial environments in the dairy or 'fresher' food and/or ingredients sector, with a good understanding of key customers/suppliers; In-depth knowledge of trading of commodities or raw materials; Ability to operate in a sector characterized by products with a very short shelf life; Ability to manage complex trade negotiations; Strong organizational autonomy, team player and results-oriented; Quick execution, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; Fluent English and Italian language skills are required to successfully perform the role.
