Position: Business Development Food Pricing Estimator
Location: Home-based with occasional UKI travel
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
Role Overview:
We are recruiting for a highly skilled Business Development Food Pricing Estimator to lead food and hospitality pricing for Business Development bids. This role will be crucial in developing competitive pricing strategies that align with client needs and contribute to the growth of the business across the UK and Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Pricing Strategy: Take the lead on food and hospitality service line bids, working closely with Business Development Managers and Directors to develop winning bid strategies.
- Pricing & Bid Preparation: Accurately price all bid elements, including labour loading, sales mixes, tariffs, sundries, and more. Ensure pricing is competitive and aligned with client expectations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with multiple internal stakeholders, including operational teams, to ensure timely delivery of bids and cost-effective solutions.
- Risk Management & Negotiation: Analyse and manage pricing risks, particularly during the negotiation phase, and ensure clarity around any assumptions or uncertainties in the bids.
- Third-Party Coordination: Obtain pricing from third parties, including vending solutions, and integrate these into bid proposals.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of pricing models, commercial strategies, and bid processes, ensuring they align with business and client goals.
- Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that meet both operational and commercial requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Sales Growth & Retention: Contribute to the sales growth target and annual contract retention objectives.
- Margin Achievement: Ensure contracts meet required margin targets, particularly in the first year of operation.
- Operational Transition: Facilitate smooth transitions of successful bids into operational delivery, ensuring operational teams are well-prepared for mobilisation.
- Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in the pricing and commercial models, seeking opportunities for operational efficiency and innovation.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Facilities Management or Pricing: Proven experience in facilities management, specifically in pricing or delivering food and hospitality services.
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities, with experience in statistical analysis and complex data modelling.
- Client-Focused: Ability to understand customer requirements and develop competitive, tailored pricing solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams in high-pressure environments.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required to meet business needs.
- Commitment to Quality: Demonstrates a high standard of accuracy and clarity in all pricing work, ensuring clear audit trails and process transparency.
