Job Description
Exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor to join a world leader in the design, engineering, and installation of pharmaceutical-grade high purity water and steam systems, medical gases, and laboratory gases systems. The business serve the hospital and healthcare markets, as well as the semi-conductor and solar panel manufacturing sectors. As part of a £2 billion corporation (Indutrade AB, Sweden), who offer long-term security, while there is a huge opportunity to progress to Commercial director in the future.
This role is available on a permanent basis or initially available on a temp-to-perm basis.
Primary Role:
You will be responsible for all commercial activities throughout the group. Your duties will include:
* Preparing applications and invoices
* Preparing and valuing variations/EWN’s/Compensation events
* Reviewing contracts at both tender and order stages
* Providing commercial review of ongoing contracts and reporting to the commercial director, including cashflow forecasting and project budgeting against costs
* Preparing, negotiating, and agreeing final accounts with clients
* Monitoring contracts against programme and issuing delay notices/claims as appropriate
* Attending client commercial meetings
* Assisting the estimating department and providing MTO’s/quotations
* Visiting sites to monitor progress of works and assist project managers
Required Skills:
* Knowledge of the construction industry, ideally with a mechanical bias
* Financial and numeracy management skills
* Excellent communication and negotiating skills
* Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
* Computer literate with excellent MS suite skills
* Clear understanding of NEC and other forms of contracts
