What will you be doing?
You will support value delivery to the business through strategic procurement including cost reduction, supply chain resilience, risk mitigation, and ESG enablement. This can be achieved through negotiations, competitive tendering, contract management, and supplier management.
This programme will be comprised of four six-month rotations across different categories to give you a wide breadth of experience across procurement, and will include a CIPS Level 4 qualification alongside your day to day responsibilities.
You will;
- Supporting procurement managers and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement for specific categories of spend (e.g. packaging)
- Building up subject matter expertise for specific categories of support – e.g. detailed knowledge of commercial models, supply market, and purchasing dynamics
- Conduct supply market research to identify new innovations and opportunities for areas of the business you partner, including ESG / decarbonisation improvements
- Prepare key analysis and documentation to support influencing stakeholders on recommended areas for change / improvement on external spend and supplier management
- Proactively request and action feedback from procurement team and wider business stakeholders
- Own the commercial and contract negotiations through to contract handover for your categories with support for senior procurement team
- Work with finance team and business stakeholders to track and report on benefits delivered to senior management
- Contribute to the continuous development of the Procurement Team's governance, ways of working, and supplier risk management processes
- Provide direction and best practise for procurement to stakeholders and project leads
Requirements
- Recent graduates or undergraduate due to graduate in 2024
- 2:1 grade; obtained/predicted
- Procurement
- Supply chain
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Business Management
- GCSE grade C/4 in Maths and English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
