We will happily accept applications to any of our UK locations.Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical design and development of a diverse range of offshore wind jacket structures, ensuring innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Engage actively in Joint Industry Projects (JIPs), collaborations with academia, and partnerships with technology vendors to develop and implement novel processes and methods for offshore wind jacket foundation designs.
  • Collabrate on innovation in design and analysis tools, ensuring the development of efficient and effective processes for various projects.
  • Support the acquisition and execution of offshore wind projects through all stages of development, offering creative solutions for design, repair, and upgrades of jacket structures.
  • Enhance and refine our design tools, methodologies, and client offerings to maintain our competitive edge in the industry.
  • Apply expertise in stress and structural analysis, understanding various offshore design codes, and skillfully develop, execute, and report on complex analysis models using a diverse array of software packages.
  • Provide crucial technical insights to assist our bidding teams in securing future projects with a focus on jacket structures.
  • Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Address and solve complex technical challenges, ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Cultivate and expand client relationships, positioning the company as a go-to source for comprehensive offshore wind solutions.
  • Support a network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in primary steel and other foundational elements, serving as a key point of contact.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:
  • Engineering degree, honours or equivalent in civil, mechanical, structural, naval architecture or similar;
  • Chartered Engineer with a recognised engineering institution.
  • Previous experience in primary steel design for jacket foundations (required).
  • Experience working for an offshore consultant, OEM, developer or EPCI contractor.
  • Working knowledge of offshore structural engineering, relevant Offshore Wind design codes and certification requirements.
  • Awareness of the interfaces between turbine loads, turbines and foundation.
Communication:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Behaviour/ Core Competencies:
  • Collaboration, communication, innovation and delivery skills
  • Linear and non-linear offshore structural analysis & FEA ( Fatigue, Ultimate and Accidental Limit States, Ship impact) – SESAM, USFOS, Bladed, SACS, Abaqus (or similar).
  • Track record in delivering offshore wind projects.
  • Occasional need to travel locally and internationally to meet with internal and external stakeholders.
