The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Nuclear Defence company based in Reading.
Job Overview:
Provide electrical / control and instrumentation designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) such that utilities, infrastructure, engineering processes, equipment and facilities are compliant with legislation, standards and requirements associated with engineering design throughout the facility lifecycle.
Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver electrical / control and instrumentation designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with electrical engineering.
- Application of knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements.
- Ensure application of standards is proportionate and that engineering best practice is adopted.
- Elevate areas of concern to the relevant Principal Engineer.
What do you need to succeed?
- ONC / OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
- HNC / HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or other related discipline.
- Working knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to electrical engineering.
- Competent in standard office software, and engineering tools and applications.
- Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and / or high hazard facilities.
