Job Description

About the Role:

Unite People are currently recruiting on behalf of our national civil engineering client, who are looking for an experienced Site Agent to be responsible for the management of £30million package of works at Sizewell C. Ensuring the scheme is complete in line with the set program, while ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects.
  • Create and manage the project’s cost plan to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Oversee the commercial performance of the project.
  • Address resource issues proactively and ensure all resource records are complete and accurate.
  • Manage subcontractors, providing clear instructions and support to meet contractual requirements.
  • Ensure detailed site diaries and records are accurately maintained.
  • Review and interpret project drawings and specifications, identifying errors or omissions, and managing technical queries as needed.
  • Prepare and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) effectively.
  • Maintain and update the risk and opportunities register for all projects.
  • Ensure all staff, subcontractors, and visitors are inducted, meet required competencies, and hold necessary qualifications and certifications.
  • Participate in daily briefings, weekly look-ahead meetings, and programme reviews


Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in management and technical support within a civil engineering environment, including knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NEC contracts, including program management, risk management, and cost control (forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting).
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering profitable projects.
  • Demonstrates a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Proven ability to exhibit the right behaviors, motivate teams, and lead in alignment with the company culture, ensuring compliance with high standards.
  • Skilled in using computers and business software, including BIM procedures and cloud-based document management systems.
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly in preparing technical reports and tender submissions.
  • Holds a valid CSCS Card and SMSTS certification.
  • Possesses a valid driving license and is willing to travel across the UK.
