Teacher of Physics
Start date: January 2025
Salary: MPS, Inner London
A dedicated and dynamic teacher of secondary science is required to teach Physics to KS5 at an excellent secondary school in the Borough of Westminster.
The Science department at this very high achieving school currently consists of 10 full-time teachers and four technical staff. The subject is taught in eight well-equipped laboratories, each with the facility for data projection. There is also a large department office with photocopying and printing facilities as well as plenty of storage for the department's resources.
All members of staff are provided with laptops.
JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will be a Physics specialist expected to plan and prepare lessons for KS3-KS4 General Science with KS5 Physics.
Essential Criteria:
Either a recent graduate or an experienced teacher
A cheerful, enthusiastic and well-presented person, capable of inspiring confidence in pupils and parents.
Excellent communication skills, oral, written and in the use of ICT (Microsoft Office).
Capable of working independently and as part of a team and willing to contribute to Departmental resources.
Calmness and efficiency and the ability to work under pressure at certain times.
Commitment to continuing professional development through attendance at INSET
Fully aware of Health & Safety issues.
Aware of the nature of the School and prepared to commit to its all-round ethos, extra-curricular activities and pastoral approach.
Desirable Criteria:
The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all members of the school community and outside agencies
An ability to offer skills in some part of the extra-curricular programme of the school
Enjoy rising to the challenge inherent in a school environment
Willing to participate in our extensive programme of trips and exchanges during the School holidays.
Prepared to work hard with energy and enthusiasm

Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
Have an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
