Job Description
A leading Tier 1 contractor with a robust pipeline of major civil engineering projects is seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Agent to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-profile civil engineering projects valued between £40m and £60m.
Engineers with a strong background in highways and/or flood defence are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and program project activities to ensure efficient delivery.
Monitor and control financial performance, including cost reporting.
Lead and oversee Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and the wider delivery team.
Set and monitor targets and KPIs to align with project objectives.
Manage plant, materials, and subcontractor activities.
Develop and oversee traffic management plans.
Liaise with clients and chair project meetings.
Manage project administration, quality assurance, audits, permits, and records.
Supervise setting out and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
Implement company procedures, protocols, and safety measures.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
Interpret and implement design specifications effectively.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
Key Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, along with CSCS and SMSTS certification.
Professional accreditation (or working towards it).
Extensive experience in highways construction with Tier 1 or principal UK contractors.
Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of delivering similar projects as a Site Agent.
Self-motivated, proactive, and confident with a "can-do" attitude.
