Location : Nottinghamshire
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday
Salary : £40 - £45,000, 33 days holiday, pension contribution of up to 5%

Role Overview:
As part of their continued growth and investment, our client is looking to hire a Technical Author to join their Engineering Department. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for manufacturing processes, management, compliance and upkeep of the quality & environmental procedures, records, you will also manage technical construction files in accordance with the Machinery Directive.
Key Responsibilities for the Technical Author role;
Develop and update operation manuals, user guides, service instructions, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents for our range of vehicles.
Create necessary documentation, reports, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.
Develop training materials and procedures to ensure clear instructions are provided to customers and internal teams.
Experience & qualifications for the Technical Author role;
Proven experience in technical writing, particularly in engineering or manufacturing sectors.
Knowledge of CE/UKCA certification, Machinery Directive, and relevant industry standards.
Experience working with machinery that involves mechanical parts, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Familiarity with writing manuals for equipment in the waste, refuse, recycling, or general machinery industries.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Experience with document management systems and technical writing tools is a plus.
