Job Description
Material Controller – M&E Contractor – North London
AA Euro are recruiting for a Materials Controller to join a specialist M&E Contractor fitting out a large data centre project in North London.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Materials Controller will be responsible for monitoring plant and material levels on site, including pre-inspection of all materials prior to offloading. The Materials Controller will be responsible for the safe storage of materials and to adhere to quality management and effective document control.
The Materials Controller will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values; integrity, dependability, safety, pride and quality.
Overview of Knowledge Required:
• Detailed knowledge of the Materials Controller role
• Commercial understanding
• Health, Safety and Environmental systems
• Knowledge of the team’s strengths and weaknesses
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Receive materials, plant hire, and ensure their secure storage
• Reconcile quantities with supervisors and vendors
• Adhere to Quality management systems and ensure appropriate document control
• Assist in arrangement for provision of transport, and to ensure prompt action requests
• Physical Inventory Control and verification on the usage of the material
• Propose and dispose surplus/ scrap material at facility location as per Company procedures
• Prepare, monitor and update Material Tracking Schedule
• Closely work with Planning Engineer to ensure materials are available as per the plan
• Coordinate with Material Engineer and Procurement Department for providing details for Material Submittal to obtain Client approval
• Planning with Procurement Department to minimise the inventory as agreed with Project Manager and prepare Monthly Materials Reports
• Expedite with Supplier for prompt delivery
• Monitor the Stores function and Storekeepers
• Regularly update the Quantity Surveyor on the materials required to complete the Project
• To ensure correct quantity and cost are debited to the items in CCS/SAP system
• To accurately back charge subcontractors and suppliers
• To ensure correct data is provided to Commercial Dept. for calculation of quantity and cost to
complete budget items
• All other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager
