Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the School:

They are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help support students with special educational needs (SEN) across the school.
The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to support students with a variety of needs, including learning, communication, physical, and emotional needs. You will help create an inclusive classroom environment, deliver tailored interventions, and ensure that students are fully supported in their learning and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individual students or small groups of children with special educational needs.
Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies as directed by the class teacher.
Foster an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Assist with the development of students' academic and social skills.
Work closely with teachers to monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches.
Promote positive behaviour and help with emotional or behavioural support.
Support students during breaks and lunch times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding students' progress and well-being.
Person Specification:
Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (experience with SEN is an advantage).
A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and helping them to achieve their full potential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to each child's unique needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A commitment to ongoing professional development.
A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
