M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor

This is an exciting new opportunity for an MEP Senior QS to join a thriving Region to develop and enhance their existing skills along side a strong team. Key duties will include project surveying, monthly reporting, supervising and mentoring other commercial team members, risk identification and management, pre-construction support, and working closely with the Regional Operations Manager and Senior Commercial management. The role would be based between our office and regional sites as required in line with our flexible working policy. This is a great chance to join and become an intrinsic member of the Tilbury Douglas Engineering team and the successful candidate would have the opportunity for further development and progression as the Region grows.

Tilbury Douglas Engineering provides Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services across a number of sectors and our core strengths are in delivering high specification Healthcare projects, Education and Government frameworks, Commercial projects and plant replacement schemes. Tilbury Douglas Engineering undertake this work through a mixture of internal partnerships with Tilbury Douglas Construction, and contracts with External Tier 1 Principle Contractors and End User Clients.

Role summary

To manage the Company's resources to achieve a successful outcome, Technically, Commercially, Safely and to the Client's Satisfaction on the project.

What you will be doing

* To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the company IPCD.

* To ensure the safe and efficient execution of the project in line with company IPCD.

* To manage all Engineering Services activities in line with the Project Process Document.

* To manage the resources on the project on a day to day basis and to report any staff issues as appropriate.

* Manage project commercial issues and cost reporting (WIP).

* To identify the clients requirements and ensure we deliver these requirements to the clients’ satisfaction.

* Represent the company on any internal or external issues.

* Prepare detailed plans and procedures to administer the project and ensure the project team are familiar with and follow these guidelines.

* To manage all project reporting is provided upstream and downstream on a timely manner.

* Regularly audit the project to ensure compliance.

* Communicate with the project team regularly on project specific matters and company initiatives.

* To manage the project cash flow is positive throughout the life of the project.

* To manage procurement and achieve best value for Engineering Services.

* Identify all risks and manage actions and implementation to mitigate such risks.

what we will need from you

* Sound & comprehensive understanding of construction industry and the parties to it.

* Proficient knowledge of measurement and valuation.

* Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.

* Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and knowledge of construction and MEP process.

* Ability to negotiate with clients/sub-contractors and draft sub contracts.

* Knowledge of CIS.

* Ability to produce accurate monthly cost and value reports and outturn financial forecasts.

* Display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
