This position is made for someone who is driven by the need to create memorable cuisine and guest experiences each and every day. This person finds passion being present in the kitchen during service; directly impacting the guest and staff experience.
The Nitty-Gritty:
What exactly you will be doing
- Monitor and track the flow of information coming to you from your superiors, hotel side, culinary side and distribute consistently to the team. The Junior Sous Chef will be involved in decisions and communication on the floor and share results with fellow teammates and superiors.
- Be flexible and adapt to required rotation within the Kitchen and independently run the section you are assigned to.
- To maintain the general standards of the kitchen as well as implementation of the kitchen manual rules and regulations towards your section.
- Perform opening and closing of shift duties, including preparation of mis en place according to occupancy level and cleaning of all kitchen equipment at the end of the day
- To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors.
- The Junior Sous Chef will co-ordinate with the Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef to order required goods, products, materials and utensils.
- Mentor and guide junior chef team members growth and identify short to long-term goals to achieve and ensure high colleague engagement and welfare.
- Comply with all safety and EHO procedures.
- Ensures and provides flawless, upscale, professional and high-class guest service experiences as a role model and expertise in all kitchen related matters.
Background must-have:
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques
- Preferred: 2-3 years experience in a full-service restaurant or 5* Hotel
- Current right to work in the UK
