Job Title: Estimator
Location: Fife, Scotland
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Our client, a regional civil engineering contractor, is seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator to join their dynamic commercial team. This permanent role involves working on diverse projects in Fife and across the East of Scotland.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, a proven track record in civil engineering, groundwork, and renewable projects, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Register, control, and administer tender documentation efficiently.
Express interest in tender opportunities.
Review tender documents and extract accurate information for pricing various works.
Develop detailed and practical packages in collaboration with end clients.
Produce cost-effective tenders from first principles.
Manage involvement across multiple projects simultaneously.
Analyse and price risks rigorously.
Prepare tender submission documents and detailed estimating reports.
Support proposals and contract management activities.
Conduct site visits to assess and measure specific project areas.
Maintain regular communication with the management and on-site teams.
Follow up on submitted tenders, reporting outcomes to management.
Candidate Profile:
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a similar estimating role.
Significant experience in civil engineering projects, preferably in civils groundwork.
Expertise in first principle estimating.
Strong organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
Exceptional time management and planning abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
A valid UK driving licence.
