About the Role:
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for Psychology Graduates to begin or expand their career in education by working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a large, dynamic school for children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role provides invaluable experience for those looking to pursue careers in educational psychology, social work, or related fields.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant focused on Autism and other special needs, you will support students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them to engage in their learning and personal development in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other special educational needs.
* Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
* Promote the emotional, social, and academic progress of students by facilitating learning activities and encouraging positive behavior.
* Work closely with class teachers and other professionals to deliver inclusive teaching methods.
* Support students with their personal care needs, including mobility or medical assistance (training provided).
* Observe and monitor students’ progress, keeping detailed records and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
* Contribute to a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes inclusion and respect.

Requirements:

* A degree in Psychology (or a related field) is ideal but not a deal breaker.
* Previous experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEN is advantageous but not required.
* A passion for supporting children with additional learning needs and a strong desire to make a difference.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

Why Join Us?

* Gain invaluable experience in the field of SEN and Autism, with opportunities for professional growth.
* Work in a supportive and inclusive school environment with a team of passionate professionals.
* Receive on-the-job training and ongoing support to help you succeed in your role.
* Flexible work arrangements to suit your schedule (full-time or part-time).

This is an excellent opportunity for Psychology graduates who are looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs, while also building a foundation for a rewarding career in education or related fields.
