Clerk of Works required

I am working with a very large and reputable client within the Facilities Management sector who are looking for a Clerk of Works to join their team in Stevenage. Clerk of Works Role:

Working as part of the operational compliance team; The Clerk of Works (Permit to work) will deliver insightful expertise in support of the client, projects & operational teams. They will be appointed to oversee permit approval and quality of work for all project related work ensuring work is executed to the highest safety standards. The Clerk of Work's main responsibility is to act as the approver for all project related work whilst ensuring that the client’s permit to work process is adhered to.

* Ensure compliance with the Permit to work approval process ensuring all documents are in place and signed when required.

* Carry out Accident/Incidents investigations and lessons learnt are realised and achievable where appropriate.

* Support with toolbox talks.

* Assist in the support of all sites, act as a Permit to work advisor on all H&S, Fire Safety and Environmental matters.

* Liaising closely with Permit to work office Project and Engineering teams.

* Conduct both desk & field permit to work reviews where appropriate.

* Be able to support with any site audits.

* Be responsible to support the Safety teams on site ensuring they meet their statutory obligations, whilst the daily activities are under the Hard FM managers of the respective sites.

* Attend Client EHS meetings as required as the client representative liaising with all stakeholders.

* Forge professional working relationships with the client EHS Team and Permit to work office.

* Comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures, ensuring the requirements of Health and Safety at Work act and Environmental legislation are met at all times and records maintained.

* Prepare a (PGI) Planned General Inspection spreadsheet of construction sites, ensuring each inspection is recorded and documented with Non-Conformances/Recommendations.

* Advise on any Continuous Improvement Plan opportunities for the contract.

* Works to be developed to meet all relevant British Standards and specific site rules and procedures.

* Support with H&S training delivered on site to ensure the needs of the learners are being met by quality and in date/relevant training modules.

* Conduct random Safety tours to ensure compliance.

* Be prepared to support the client permit issuers as required with any additional requirements required to meet statutory requirements on the contract.

* Be prepared to support at other contract sites as required by the New Works Manager.

* Take prompt action to correct any shortfalls which may be reported by either the client or from company quality audits.

* Encourage a continuous improvement culture so that the contract does not stagnate

Requirements to apply for the Clerk of Works:

* Have experience working in a similar role

* Have expeirence working in the Facilities Management sector (Strongly Desireable)

* Have experience working in construction as well are base knoweldge of Hard FM (M+E)

* Have SC Clearance (Desirable) DBS at minimum.

* Have a full UK drivers licence

* Have a UK Passport.
