SEN Teaching Assistant
Part time (3/4 days)

A popular, community-focused primary school in Clapham are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their school in January 2025 to provide 1 to 1 support for a child.
The Role
In this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will be supporting a pupil in year 3 with Special Educational Needs. The child's needs are complex and they will need support with their behaviour as well as accessing activities in the classroom. The child can display challenging behaviour and will require you to de-escalate situations and remove the child in order to calm down situations. The school is well-resourced to support children with SEN and you will work closely with experienced staff and have access to specialist areas to support the child.
The school are looking for an SEN teaching assistant who is very confident and to provide personal care and support to a young child with this level of complex needs.
The school are open to applications from Special Needs Teaching Assistants with previous experience or care settings, or passionate and committed individuals looking to enter the sector.
This role is offered on a contract basis from January to July 2025.
