Trainee Machine Operator x3 - Extrusion

Job Description
We are looking to hire a number of Trainee Machine Operators for our client's Extrusion (Polymer / Polyamide) Production Team based in Somerset. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate extrusion lines safely and efficiently.

The overall purpose of the role is to undertake safe, accurate and efficient setting of machines to achieve the company’s safety, quality and production targets and to ensure all procedures are followed with a high level of discipline.
Main Duties involve:
* Operate and monitor extrusion processes to shape metal or workpieces by forcing them through a die to achieve the desired cross-section or shape.
* Ensure quality control in the production of pipes, steel rods, and other products by overseeing the compressive force and extrusion parameters.
* Operate production equipment to assist with assembling, manufacturing, processing, and packaging items along the production line, ensuring efficient and safe production.
* Minimise material usage and wastage
* To maintain a general level of tidiness in work areas and ensure punctual timekeeping in accordance with contracted hours.
Personal Competencies:
* Attention to detail
* Methodical approach when problem solving
* Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative
* Good communication skills both verbal and written
* Team player with good time management
Previous extrusion experience is not required, although a background in assembly or manufacturing would be beneficial. The most important qualities are a positive attitude towards work and a willingness to learn new skills.
