Job Description

A manufacturing powerhouse is looking to add an experienced Production Controller to its team, in a contract role, covering maternity leave.

Position Summary:

The role of the Production Controller will be to support the operations department and to liaise with key customers to ensure >95% on time delivery.

Responsibilities:

Strong SAP user (production bias & raise QNs)
Strong production planning skills
Strong excel skills
Creation of day plans & mitigation plans for production
Good strong communication skills throughout all areas of the business
Able to make quick decisions and avoid bottlenecks with forward thinking/planning
Enable to mitigate gap analysis throughout all operations and close any downtime of WIP movements through all departments
Proactive attitude and solution finder
Understanding of fabrication processes desirable
Aerospace background advantageous
Able to commit to customer and hold promises
Strong can do personality
Able to cope under pressure and deliver results
Driven individual to aid business culture change

The Production Controller will be responsible for preparing and communicating compliance data to the Senior Leadership Team and customers.

Data includes the following:

Daily P&W Obeya pack
P&W Commit File
Production Readiness Reviews
Demand Alignment
5 Year Capacity Plans (Resource & Equipment)
Recovery plans
Yield & CA Reporting
Production Support
MRP/MPS Adherence & Buffer Control
Yield Tracking
Production Rate Planning
WIP Control
Maintenance of WO Dates & Completions
Scrap WIP Control/ Destruction & Report Out
Maintenance of SAP Serialization of Units
COPQ control
Productivity Improvements
Supporting Continuous Improvement Events
Production QN & Close Out Support
Assist & Lead Tier cell meetings when required
Continuous improvement support and promote to team members


The Production Controller will also be expected to support customer calls outside normal workings hours so flexibility is essential

Responsibilities (in addition to above):
Production readiness reviews
Capacity planning (people & equipment)
Presentations (prepare & present as required)
Capital Expenditure to support new product / equipment
Liaising with other departments
Support team in the use of ACE Tools such as 5s, TPM, Turnback collection
ACE Board compliance
Quality Clinic Activity as required
Lead lean events as required
Support Cell Meetings

The above is a selection of responsibilities, the role is ever changing so the Production Controller must adapt and be flexible to cope with the change.

Requirements:

Education HNC / Degree in an engineering discipline.
Experience Minimum 5 years
Industry Experience as above
Computer Literacy MS Office, ERP system

This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and if required, completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
