Job Description
Questech Recruitment are now recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Manager for one of out clients who are based in Driffield.
The Shifts
Monday to Friday (Apply online only) (37.5 hours per week)
The Pay
£44,000 - £46,000 DOE.
The Role
To assist in the delivery of the Asset Care plan and provide a World Class engineering support to the Site and ensuring the site and team remain compliant to all legislation. Includes - Pre plan and prepare work orders and hardware for said work orders. Drive RCA and REM with reliability engineers to improve site OEE and reduce overall breakdowns. Create cost driven culture to design out repeat failures, maximise efficiencies whilst at no time jeopardising Food Safety or Health and Safety of any product or Individual.
Primary Objectives:
1. To drive the CMMS system to best maximize OEE on site.
2. To control RCA and REM to drive the CMMS system forward.
3. To control and drive projects to best maximize cost savings.
4. To manage external contractors issuing work permits where appropriate and ensure contractor control is fully enforced.
5. To ensure that all breakdown countermeasures that may arise, are aligned to the A/C strategy ‘100 year fix’ approach.
6. To commit to improving on their basic skills, to achieve the flexibility required to support all best practice maintenance on site.
7. Identification of CI opportunities, and the delivery of departmental & site capital projects.
8. Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.
9. Proactively manage own time (and others), including prioritization of workload and making sound decisions based on the needs of the business.
10. Provide practical technical knowledge to the Site, including providing training, motivation, coaching and guidance as required.
11. Contribute and assist in the management of the site CMMS system, to drive a high quality, low cost department.
12. A totally flexible approach, with a fully can-do attitude.
13. To stand in for Site Engineering Manager as and when required.
14. Ensure with the assistance of the Supervisor, the maintenance craftsmen are utilized as effectively as possible by the setting and subsequent monitoring of challenging workloads.
15. To comply with good manufacturing practices and the Food Safety Act 1990.
16. Develop & review PPM schedules for individual streams and services.
17. Ensure Engineering have training and resource to operate planned maintenance system whilst ensuring the Training and Skills matrix is updated.
18. Develop and publish accurate, timely & regular departmental reports, showing: PM compliance, downtime/reliability trends, Individual Shires usage & budgetary performance.
19. Identify any recurring faults or possible future failures, by analysis of data.
20. Carry out post-PM asset audits to ensure work quality is maintained & individual performance management evidence.
21. Ensure that all service contracts are included into the Shires system which should drive the schedules and capture data on completed work / further work required.
22. Maintain the COSHH register for engineering substances.
23. Manage BOAS compliance in alignment with regulations.
24. Manage L8 compliance in alignment with regulations.
25. Manage Fixed wire, EICR, PFC and PAT testing compliance in line with regulation.
26. Oversee the maintenance and development of the stores system ensuring efficient stock of spares is held either on site or at suppliers own premises.
27. Rationalize spares stock across streams reducing where possible different lines of the same item.
28. Identify and manage obsolesce and put plans in place to minimize risk.
29. Work within, monitor, and understand budgets for labour and overhead costs, providing information and justification for future investment requirements.
30. Assist with the condition monitoring program, identify & manage required interventions to prevent failures.
31. Provide Period reports and attend period reviews where required, detailing period performance and future requirements/performance development opportunities.
32. To assist Engineering Supervisor in effectively scheduling labour ensuring that key tasks are completed within date.
33. Monitor, identify and action improvement opportunities that have a direct result on site KPI’s, including H&S, environmental, reliability, PTS, losses/waste, labour reduction/efficiencies, quality etc.
34. Assist the supervisor to monitor assets/production lines and develop maintenance PPM’s capable of completion while plant running at the same time reducing intrusive/shutdown maintenance down to a minimum.
35. Use of 6Y and root cause to identify countermeasures to tackle reliability & drive KPI performance. Whilst ensuring CAYGO is fully adhered to.
Required Qualifications:
• Time served engineering apprenticeship & minimum of City and Guilds electrical/ONC/B-TEC (Or equivalent).
• Min 5 years’ experience in a multi-skilled engineering environment with an electrical BIAS. (knowledge of asset maintenance is crucial)
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering - pumps, gearboxes, drives, compressors, bearings, seals, conveyors, palletisers, pneumatics, hydraulics & lubrication.
• Good understanding of utilities/services – refrigeration, steam, water treatment & air.
• A comprehensive understanding of Manufacturing & packaging processes.
• Experience in H&S legislation best practice within engineering, ideally with a formal qualification.
• Systems literate - PC, Office suite, Computerised maintenance system etc.
• High level of competency in the use and issue of permit to work systems, Isolation procedures & legislative compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of asset management, PPM systems & creation of PM’s.
• Stores and finance/budget management
• Electrical awareness – Single/3 phase systems, HV distribution, PFC, EICR & PAT.
• Lean manufacturing qualification (Green Belt or better)
• Experience of packaging lines – conveyor systems, palletisers & wrappers.
• Able to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, reprioritize & work to deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, organization & communication skills with an eye for detail.
• Strong man management abilities & contractor control.
• Management experience and ability to drive culture change.
• Previous experience of FMCG industries, desirable.
