What you’ll be doing:
Making data cables required for combat systems
Termination of distributions boards, that power the ship
Running temporary lighting & Fire Systems across the ship
Completing inspections and testing electrical installations
VSWR Testing (Radar cable testing)
Confident in installing various parts (Cable Containment & Conduit, Y Mounts, and Bratburg Gland Systems) Your skills and experiences:
Understanding of Relevant Trade Drawings
Awareness of all Assessments- RISK, PUWER & COSHH
Knowledge of Tag Out Process
Understanding of Relevant Manufacturing Instructions & Risk Assessments
Earthing to Equipment to Workmanship Standard
Trade Test- this is completed over day 1 of your contract
Multiple choice trade specific questions
Conduit Installation
Mechanical Crimping
Terminations
You must pass this to continue your contract From this you will then complete the below
You will need to complete 3-4 days of a WISE training course
You will sit a Safety Onboarding course (1 day) at the end of WISE. This will be on a Friday, at Govan 7am, and candidates must take PPE with them.
You will then sit 3 day onboarding.
£19.40 Per hour to £38.80 per hour
