Logistics Coordinator

Job Description
We are working with our client who are a leading offshore/renewable business based in Wallsend in their search for a logisitcs coordinator.
Your main role will be to oversee the fleet operations on the site and ensure production runs smoothly and on time.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily fleet operations on-site, coordinating with all departments to meet their needs and ensure uninterrupted production.
* Develop, manage and implement processes to maintain the smooth and safe operation of vehicles on-site, ensuring vehicles comply with environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
* Assess, recommend, and justify new equipment purchases to optimize performance and reduce downtime.
* Monitor fleet expenditure and make decisions based on long-term financial projections, ensuring optimal fleet utilisation whilst presenting cost saving strategies.
* Analyse fuel and fleet usage and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize performance.
* They will collaborate closely with the maintenance team to schedule, resolve, and react to any issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous operation to maximize productivity.
The Person:
* Material planning/production planning or logistics coordination background would be ideal for this role.
* Ability to communicate effectively between different departments
* Background in engineering, manufacturing, or construction.
* Self-starter – someone who can proactively seek out information
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
