Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre
Data Centres, it seems like over the last 2 decades they have come out of nowhere to become one of the largest, and most recession proof, construction sectors in the world. They are also the buzz word for excellence, those who have worked on them are seen as some of the hardest working and technically capable people in the industry.
Normally people trying to enter this sector get blocked with the usual “we need people with previous data centre experience” but in this instance the company has all the specialist sector knowledge they need to allow candidates from a broader background of experience to join the team and still deliver a quality service.

Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre – What’s expected?
So this project is based in Slough, it’s £13.5m M&E value and it starts in early 2024. You will be predominantly based on site with some hybrid working, project depending.
As the project manager you will be expected to:
* Take full financial and delivery responsibility.
* To carry out financial forecasting and reporting of cost, sales, gross profit, and risk.
* Manage direct and indirect resources, supply chain, plant, materials, and logistics.
* Ensure that records, data, and systems are maintained up to date and in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures.
The team is made up of yourself, a QS, project engineer and equivalent opposite numbers in regards to the electrical.
Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre – What’s needed?
While you don’t need data centre experience to qualify for an interview there is still some specifics that we are looking for:
* Critical Infrastructure experience (Critical plant / Pharmaceutical / Hospitals)
* HNC, HND or Degree in Building Services / Mechanical Engineering.
* SMSTS
* Black CSCS
* First Aid
* Full Driving Licence
What do you get?
You will receive a salary of £75,000 - £80,000 along with a package of:
* £5,000 Car Allowance
* Travel paid
* 25 days + 8 days bank holiday
* 5% / 4% pension
* Perkbox
* Access to higher learning education courses
