Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic – If you are a dedicated and skilled Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States Air Force, 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron, RAF Lakenheath.
We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, and maintain a variety of types of heavy mobile and automotive equipment.

About the role:
You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile equipment and vehicles, troubleshooting malfunctions, and determining necessary repairs. You will use diagnostic tools, orders part, completes documentation, and provides training and assistance to others as well as utilize safety practices and procedures. For this position you will be require passing a pre-employment physical. Your hours of work will be 39 hours per week on a fixed schedule Mon-Fri 07.00-15.30 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization’s flexible working policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform heavy mobile equipment mechanic work, including troubleshooting and repairs.
Conduct automotive mechanic work on various vehicles (e.g., forklifts, trucks, buses, ambulances).
Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and order parts for repairs.
Complete documentation and provide training and assistance to others.
Follow safety practices and procedures.
About you:
You will be skilled in troubleshooting and repairing heavy and light vehicles and equipment, using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and measuring devices. You will be able to interpret and apply repair manuals, technical specifications, schematics, and safety guidelines to maintain, repair, overhaul, and rebuild equipment. Additionally, you will communicate effectively, provide training to others, and maintain accurate records. You will need an NVQ level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and repair, Automotive Maintenance and Repair or similar. As well as this you will need a valid Category B driver’s license.
All successful applicants will require a security clearance and a right to work in the UK.
This position may have certain restrictions to US citizens including US dual nationals due to the Status of Forces Agreement.
