About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to join our growing team at [Company Name], a leading regional contractor specializing in construction, roofing, and utilities. In this position, you will oversee the delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage all contractual, financial, and operational aspects of our projects.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee the full project lifecycle from pre-construction to final handover, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency in the build, roofing, and utilities sectors.
Contractual Management: Ensure the effective administration of contracts, including reviewing terms and conditions, managing variations, and negotiating final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of contracts managers, project managers, and site staff. Provide direction, guidance, and support to ensure projects are progressing as planned.
Client Relationship Management: Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear and open communication at all stages of the project. Act as the main point of contact for key stakeholders.
Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks on projects, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve issues promptly to prevent delays or cost overruns.
Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and ensure that costs are effectively managed. Prepare financial forecasts, cost reports, and ensure all billing and payments are processed in a timely manner.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contracts, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects are in full compliance with health and safety regulations. Promote a culture of safety on site and ensure the implementation of risk assessments and method statements.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects adhere to required quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and clients, outlining key milestones, issues, and solutions. Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
Programme Management: Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and coordinating with various teams to address any delays or issues.
Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance the delivery of projects through innovation and effective project management techniques.Requirements:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager, preferably within the build, roofing, and utilities sectors.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT and NEC, and experience in managing large, complex projects.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and coordinating multiple projects.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage risks and issues effectively.
Good understanding of health & safety regulations and quality standards within the construction industry.
