Known as project Oriel, the new 39,500m² hospital will be built near King’s Cross at the site of the former St Pancras Hospital. Bouygues UK are the preferred contractor for the project, Bouygues UK, has developed a full construction programme with the building due to open in 2027. As we build the team, we now need a Senior QS to be based on site. This is a fantastic ground floor opportunity to join a project at its early stages you will work with a dynamic team with excellent opportunities to develop and grow within the business.
Essential
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Preparing timely monthly financial reports which accurately forecast net margin & activity utilising the company tools, procedures & rules
- Strong commercial awareness
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work
- Demonstrate a solid understand/management of company reporting timetables, as well as key tools & procedures
Job Purpose and Scope:
You will be responsible for maximising the commercial Results/Cash position of projects in terms of delivering optimum profit performance against internal budgets. Assist with the management of the procurement of Sub-contractors, and their financial & contractual management. Support the preparing and agreeing Interim Valuations with the Client & for progressing the agreement of Variations as the work proceeds utilising company tools. Collaborating with the Project Manager and other members of the Project team.
Accountabilities and key tasks:
- Post-contract financial forecasting financial reporting & control
- Design management and value engineering
- Sub-contract & consultant procurement
- Sub-contract & consultant management
- Client account management
- Reporting to Commercial Leads/Project Management Team
- Overseeing variety of subcontractors and suppliers from tier 1 £6m to tier 3 £30k
- Managing and mentoring junior staff
