Assistant/Junior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Central Manchester
Role Type: Permanent
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 + Package
About the Role:
A leading development consultancy business is seeking a talented and motivated Assistant/Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Central Manchester. As a Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the Quantity Surveying team in all aspects of cost management, including preparing and reviewing estimates, budgeting, project evaluations, and financial reporting.
This role offers a clear path for professional development within the company, with potential for career advancement to Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor positions. The Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor will receive mentorship and training from senior team members to build their skills and advance in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates and budgets
Conduct site visits to measure work completed and identify variations
Prepare and analyze cost reports and valuations
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contract administration
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholdersAbout You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:
Working towards or have the desire to work towards obtaining a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
0-2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or a similar role (internships or entry-level experience in construction is an advantage).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and familiarity with quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).
Basic knowledge of building and construction standards, practices, and methods.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
