Job Description
My client are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team at a well-established building contractor based in Bury. The role involves working on a variety of building and civil engineering projects, supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyor and project teams in delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards. * Compliance and Documentation
Skills and Qualifications:
* A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 1-2 years of experience working in a quantity surveying role within the building or civil engineering sectors.
* Experience with cost management, procurement, and contract administration on construction projects is preferred.
* Experience with both building and civil engineering projects is highly advantageous.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC), procurement processes, and cost estimation.
* Proficiency in using quantity surveying software, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar, is a plus.
* Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel for cost reporting and financial management.
* Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card would be advantageous.
* A full UK driving license is preferred as the role may require occasional travel to site locations.
