Job Description
Our client, a prominent entity in the power distribution and energy sector, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee their new connections department that delivers major HV projects ranging from 11kv to 132kv. This permanent position involves managing intricate power distribution projects, focusing on the full process from cradle to grave.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide operational support for bids and contracts, focusing on accurate pricing, risk mitigation, and compliance with governance standards.
Manage and oversee the delivery of ICP infrastructure projects in accordance with industry accreditation's.
Supervise staff and subcontractor performance, ensuring strict adherence to Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental regulations.
Keep Work in Progress (WIP) within agreed targets and business requirements.
Participate in monthly reconciliations of cost and value to maintain financial accuracy.
Identify opportunities to boost revenue and profitability through cost efficiency's and additional chargeable work.
Handle negotiations with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Support the sourcing and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.
Ensure timely preparation and accurate management of project documentation, including as-built and progress records.
Act as the primary contact for operational matters with clients and contractors.
Lead and mentor project teams, promoting collaboration and a positive working culture.
Track and manage project progress to ensure key milestones are achieved and resources are forecasted effectively.
Plan, recruit, and coordinate resources to meet the needs of ongoing and future projects.
Take proactive measures to safeguard projects from contractual and commercial risks due to delays.
Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients and key stakeholders.Job Requirements:
Experience in Contracts Management or similar role within the power distribution and energy sector.
Proficiency with HSG47, CDM,
extensive knowledge in high voltage projects from 11kv to 132kv
Strong understanding of utilities infrastructure, including excavation, utility works, backfill, and reinstatement.
Commercially aware with effective budget management skills.
Proficiency in MS Projects and other relevant IT tools.
Excellent communication skills and ability to use tablets for documentation.
Ability to conduct and manage site audits efficiently.
