Job Description

Bouygues UK have a stimulating opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on the renowned Oriel project. Oriel is a joint initiative to transform a two-acre site at St Pancras Hospital to deliver a pioneering eye care, research, and education centre. The project will be a new, state-of-the-art building with an anticipated gross internal area of up to 46,000m2. Designed with flexibility in mind, it will be able to meet future service requirements and keep pace with changes in technological, medical or research requirements. Its design has been the subject of an extensive programme of engagement with patients, staff and partner organisations to ensure a national standard for accessibility is created.

Job Purpose and Scope:
You will be responsible maximising the commercial Results/Cash position of projects in terms of delivering optimum profit performance against internal budgets. Mange the procurement of Sub-contractors, and their financial & contractual management. The preparing and agreeing Interim Valuations with the Client & for progressing the agreement of Variations as the work proceeds utilising company tools. Collaborating with the Project Manager and other members of the Project team.

Essential

Experience in one of these sectors: Residential, Commercial, Healthcare or Specialist MEP Contractor

MEP - Building Services experience could be advantageous

Experience in producing financial reports, including forecast, net margin, & activity

Strong commercial awareness

Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produce accurate work

Be able to facilitate the promoting the training and development of Graduates and Assistant QS’s

Demonstrate a solid understand/management of company reporting timetables, as well as key tools & procedures

Accountabilities and key tasks:

Post-contract financial forecasting financial reporting & control

Design management and value engineering

Sub-contract & consultant procurement

Sub-contract & consultant management

Client account management

Management of graduate and assistant surveyors
