Are you an experienced Estimator looking to bring your expertise to a dynamic and growing team? Our client, a respected leader in the construction industry, is seeking an Estimator to produce competitive, detailed, and accurate tenders while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare precise cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
Identify risks or issues that could impact project costs, timelines, or quality, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, address inquiries, and negotiate terms.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of tender documents, correspondence, and other relevant information.
Ensure all estimates and tenders comply with industry standards, laws, and regulations.
Key Tasks:
Prepare detailed 'take-offs' and Bills of Quantities.
Analyse project requirements to identify potential impacts on project costs.
Use estimating software effectively to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Participate in post-tender discussions to support the progression of projects to the contract award stage.
Maintain strong knowledge of local supply chains and current market rates to deliver competitive pricing.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in an estimating role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of building materials, components, Building Regulations, and health and safety standards.
Familiarity with contractual procedures and responsibilities.
Highly numerate with the ability to manipulate numerical information accurately.
Experience working with estimating software packages.
Strong communication, influencing, and liaison skills.
Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
