Construction Control Inspector – If you are a dedicated and skilled Facilities Inspector with a passion for excellence, we invite you to join our team at the United States Air Force, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, RAF Lakenheath.
We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in performing inspections on a variety of structures involving difficult and complex constructions with sophisticated mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems and equipment.

About the role:
In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and overseeing complex construction projects, acting as a technical consultant, and ensuring proper facility and equipment management. You will also gather information for reports and maintain sustainment management systems. Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week on a fixed schedule Mon-Fri 08.00-16.30 where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organisation’s flexible working policies.
Inspect and monitor complex construction projects.
Serve as a technical consultant to relevant agencies.
Inspect facilities, utilities, equipment, and materials.
Maintain and update sustainment management systems.
Compile information into written inspection reports.
About you:
You will need expertise in construction inspection practices, including building materials, workmanship, and system installations, as well as knowledge of engineering principles for complex construction projects. You should understand electrical, mechanical, water, fuels, and structural aspects of major construction projects, and be able to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans. Additionally, you must be familiar with safety practices in the construction industry, and have a strong understanding of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, with effective communication skills. Specialised experience or a combination of education and training (HND/HNC/BTEC, City and Guilds, NVQ) in a relevant discipline (i.e Mechanical, Electrical, Civil engineering), with at least three years' work experience and a valid CAT B driving license is required.
