Job Description
(Note: shortlisting and interviews will commence from early Jan 2025) Requirements: Relevant degree in Law, Business Management, Logistics or similar Procurement qualification/certifications More than 5 years in a corporate environment in procurement (not buying) Knowledge & experience in all aspects of procurement & tender management (products, services, infrastructure) with an emphasis of IT related projects Knowledge of the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework. E-procurement knowledge Duties Lead group purchasing initiatives, maximizing ROI for member institutions. Identify and develop new contract opportunities through stakeholder engagement and market research. Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from tendering to contract management, ensuring best value and quality service. Market company services and facilitate stakeholder collaboration. Support strategic planning and operational improvements. Drive cost savings and improve efficiencies across the contract portfolio Ensure timely responses to inquiries related to quality, deliveries, and procurement savings. Provide effective and timely responses to user calls regarding orders and deliveries. Ensure effective and efficient supply chain management. Effectively manage all aspects of the procurement process. Drive the implementation and ongoing improvement of e-tendering and catalog systems. Keep abreast of industry trends and new developments in business systems. Manage procurement activities fairly, equitably, transparently, and cost-effectively. Assist management in developing procurement policies, procedures, and processes. Cultivate strategic, professional, and ethical relationships with clients and suppliers. Ensure procurement activities align with Company SA's strategic interests and maximize value from supplier contracts. Leverage bulk buying, pooled efforts, and economies of scale to create cost savings. Manage a support staff member and provide coverage when needed. Deliver timely and accurate management information to the CEO and relevant forums. Ensure the cost-effectiveness of the e-tendering and catalog system. Create savings opportunities for both the organization and member institutions. Record and report all savings to the CEO and Financial Manager. Manage activities within allocated regions with the regional management committee. Manage Member Advisory Committees and User Groups. Frequent travel to local member institutions. Prioritize return on investment for all activities. Create new contracts that benefit the entire membership community. Interact and engage with member institutions and suppliers at various forums. Operate within Company SA's policies and procedures. Effectively manage a high workload. Manage a challenging customer base. Frequent domestic travel to member institution locations.
