Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant and inclusive SEN primary school in West Drayton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children with diverse learning needs, providing high-quality support and interventions tailored to individual students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support teachers in delivering lessons to small groups and 1:1 for students with special educational needs.
* Plan, deliver, and assess tailored interventions for students with various learning and behavioral needs.
* Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Foster an inclusive learning environment, promoting the participation of all students in class activities.
* Assist in managing students’ behavior and supporting their emotional well-being.
* Help with preparing and adapting teaching materials to meet students’ needs.
* Provide feedback on students’ progress to the class teacher and other professionals.
* Support students in all aspects of their learning, including personal care where necessary.
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
* Previous experience working with children in an SEN or mainstream school setting.
* Knowledge and understanding of various SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, etc.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting children's learning and development.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A commitment to professional development.
Desirable:
* Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other complex needs.
* Experience with strategies for managing behavior and promoting emotional well-being.
