Job Description
Main contractor seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee a £50M assisted living build near Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident site manager who can lead subcontractors across a range of packages, through to handover of the project.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and manage all on-site activities to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
* Act as the primary site lead in the absence of the Project Manager, ensuring seamless project progression.
* Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and act as a key point of contact for the client, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
* Direct, mentor, and support the site team, ensuring all work complies with construction, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
* Effectively manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to site safety and quality standards.
* Manage day-to-day site operations, identifying and resolving issues promptly to avoid delays.
* Contribute to process improvements, reducing turnaround times and enhancing project efficiency.
* Prepare and deliver progress reports, analyse project data, and address any problem areas proactively.
* Foster strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications & Experience
* Background in trades with additional qualifications in construction or site management.
* Experience in managing similar projects to completion.
* SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS Card required.
* Proven ability to lead a site team and manage a project independently in the absence of the Project Manager.
* Strong understanding of health & safety policies and procedures.
* Proficient in MS Office, MS Project/Powerproject, and other relevant software.
