About the Role
A local government authority is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Mechanical & Electrical Manager to provide expert leadership and support across a broad range of mechanical and electrical services. This key position involves managing contractors, overseeing performance, and ensuring that service delivery meets critical KPIs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support across key service areas, including Electrical, Lighting, Lifts, Mechanical, Legionella, Domestic Gas, and Communal Gas services.
Manage and oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with agreed KPIs and quality standards.
Lead and manage a team of 20+ staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, such as Programme Board and Contractor Core Group meetings.
Oversee the management of multi-million-pound contracts across both repairs and capital programmes.
Provide detailed reporting and updates to senior management on service delivery, performance, and areas for improvement.
What Will Be Achieved:
Efficient and high-quality mechanical and electrical services will be delivered within the housing portfolio.
Contractors will meet performance standards, and service delivery will align with organisational objectives.

Skills & Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering and/or electrical services.
Membership in a professional institute such as CIBSE, CIOB, or RICS.
Extensive experience in contract management and delivering large-scale programmes in social housing or a related environment.
Proven ability to manage large teams and lead complex projects effectively.
Strong contract management expertise, including overseeing multi-million-pound contracts.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to report effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
